Social Dialogue

FERCO and its partner in the Social Dialogue, EFFAT (The European Federation representing the workers in the Food, Agriculture and Tourism sectors), design and implement effective annual action plans for the benefit of both employers and employees. Topics of co-operation include: Training, Food Hygiene and Safety, and VAT.

Main Achievements

2005 : Launch of the Guide to the economically most advantageous offer. http://www.contract-catering-guide.org/

2000 : Joint declaration on Food Safety in favour of higher Food Safety and Hygiene standards and their effective implementation.

1999 : Signature of an agreement fixing fundamental principles for continuous training in contract catering companies. This agreement demonstrates support for the European Employment strategy and reaffirms a commitment to training, particularly in the sensitive areas of food hygiene and safety.

1998 : Joint Declaration on a reduced VAT rate : FERCO and its Social Partner declare that the EU institutions and Member States should ensure the application of a reduced VAT rate on Contract Catering in all Member States.
