After studies in political and social sciences at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), then a specialisation in European Affairs from the College of Europe in Bruges, Marie-Christine Lefebvre started her professional career at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She left the public sector in 1989 to become a partner in a consultancy dealing with communications and European affairs.

In 1993, she set up her own consultancy company, L Consult. Since 1992, Marie-Christine Lefebvre has been Secretary-General of FERCO. She is also a member of several European expert networks.
