The Environment

The industry is conscious of the potential influence it can exert in safeguarding the environment and is making great efforts to reduce both the resources it uses (energy, water) and the impact of its operations on the environment. This has been done by reducing packaging through agreements with suppliers, by sorting waste and respecting strict waste management policies, by reducing CO2 emission from food transport.

Through its intense specialisation and economies of scale, the contract catering industry is able to provide innovative solutions for environmental problems such as food and water waste management. Invitation to tender include more and more provisions regarding environmental protection and sustainability, which constitutes a stimulating new challenge for the sector.
